La Palmera Imperial, un raro ejemplar de palmera datilera (Phoenix Dactylifera), ha dado gran popularidad al Huerto del Cura. Esa imponente palmera de aproximadamente 180 años debe su nombre a la emperatriz Elisabeth de Austria (Sissi Emperatriz), a quien se la dedicó el capellán Castaño cuando ésta visitó el huerto en 1894.
